Huawei officially announced their P8 series of smartphone.
Basically, the P8 series is composed of three premium devices with their respective screen sizes with the smallest at 5" and the largest at whooping 6.8" ! Too big for a typical smartphone but who cares ? Samsung started it anyway with their 7-incher Galaxy Mega 2.
So let's start first with the P8 itself, it has so many features that I'm going to make a seperate article to discuss it. Anyways, it is a very very premium device. When I said PREMIUM, it really is premium ! It is carefully crafted from aluminum for 810 minutes (Are you kidding me?) more on it on my next article. So inside the premium frame runs a HiSilicon octa-core chipset, it has a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD (1920x1080) resolution and is covered in Gorilla Glass 3. The specifications are listed below :
Huawei P8
- 5.2" Full HD (1920x1080) IPS LCD display, ~424ppi, Corning Gorilla Glass 3
- HiSilicon Kirin 935 (quad-core 2Ghz ARM Cortex A57 + quad-core 1.5Ghz ARM Cortex A53 w/Mali-T628 GPU)
- 3GB RAM, 16GB/64GB variants expandable up to 128GB (uses SIM 2 slot as a microSD slot)
- 13MP AF OIS camera w/dual-tone LED flash
- 8MP front-facing camera
- GSM/HSPA/LTE
- Dual SIM (Nano+Nano)
- Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, dual-band, Bluetooth 4.0
- GPS w/A-GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack
- Non-removable 2600mAh battery
- Android 5.0.2 Lollipop w/Emotion UI
AVAILABILITY : Expected release, May 2015
Again, more on this phone in my next article so kindly check it out guys !
So, next on the list is it's slightly smaller and lower-specced brother which is the P8 Lite. Let's assume that this phone undergoes the same manufacturing process like the P8 whereas it is carved from solid aluminum for 810 minutes. Inside that aluminum body ticks the lower-end HiSilicon Kirin 620 octa-core chipset partnered with 2GB of RAM. It has a 5-inch HD (720x1280) IPS LCD display with ~294ppi. It also sports a 13MP camera w/dual-tone LED flash. The specs are as follows :
Huawei P8 Lite
- 5" HD (720x1280) IPS LCD display, ~294ppi
- HiSilicon Kirin 620 (1.2Ghz octa-core processor)
- 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage expandable up to 128GB (uses SIM 2 slot as a microSD slot)
- 13MP AF camera w/dual-tone LED flash
- 5MP front-facing camera
- GSM/HSPA/LTE
- Dual SIM
- Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1
- GPS w/A-GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack
- 2200mAH battery
- Android 5.0.2 Lollipop w/Emotion UI
AVAILABILITY : Expected release, May 2015
Last but not the least on our list is like what I mentioned earlier, sports a gigantic 6.8" display. (wooah!) Presenting, the P8 Max
So it has the same aluminum build like its smaller brothers. Ticking inside is a slightly higher-clocked HiSilicon Kirin 935 octa-core chipset with 3GB of RAM. A monstrous 6.8-inches of screen covered in Gorilla Glass 3 which thankfully, sports a Full HD resolution which results in to ~324ppi. It has a 13MP camera w/dual-tone LED flash and a 5MP front-snapper for selfies. The specifications are as follows

Huawei has been doing well by releasing phones that will suit your lifestyle but unlike those feature-riched flagships, it is more cheaper but likely to be as powerful as those. Let's see how this trio fares with other smartphones.
*UPDATE : The P8 Lite was never part of the announcement, it was pulled out before the event with the following reasons unknown.
