Starmobile Knight Luxe : Their slimmest smartphone yet

Recently, a Facebook user leaked two new upcoming devices from the local brand Starmobile, the Knight Luxe and Up Neo. And today, the latter made its debut on Happy Man by Starmobile's Facebook page.

So the Knight Luxe is their slimmest one at on 6.85mm. It has a pretty attractive and premium look with a unique "banig-like" design on the back cover.

The main selling point though is its AMOLED display. Well, AMOLED is not new nowadays but I'm glad that the display technology is making its way to our local brands.

The other selling point is the ISOCELL camera on its back. Supposedly, since it's the same sensor used by the Galaxy S5, I expect that the images taken using the Knight Luxe's camera will par with the S5's.

So enough of talks, here are the full list of specifications courtesy of RNovino from Pinoyscreencast :

KNIGHT LUXE

• 5-inch AMOLED display (720x1280 pixels, 294ppi), Scratch-resistant glass
• MediaTek MT6592M chipset
• 1.4Ghz octa-core ARM Cortex-A7
• 650Mhz ARM Mali-450MP4 GPU
• 2GB RAM
• 16GB internal storage, expandable up to 32GB
• 13MP AF BSI rear-camera (Samsung ISOCELL) w/LED flash
• 5MP front-facing camera
• 2G GPRS/EDGE, 3G HSPA+
• Dual SIM
• WI-FI a/b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth
• GPS w/A-GPS
• 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio
• micro USB 2.0
• USB OTG support
• 2,050mAh Li-Ion battery
• 141.3 x 70.6 x 6.85mm, 118g

SRP : P7,690.00

Well, it does not have some fancy features like LTE connectivity or NFC.

In my opinion, there are other phones with better feature set at this price range but nevertheless, the AMOLED display and the ISOCELL camera is there and don't forget the premium feel that comes with the device.

Two Nexus smartphones to make their debut this year

A couple of months after introduction of Motorola's Nexus 6, earlier speculations arise about a new Nexus device. Some of them even reported that two Nexus devices are planned to be released and yes, those speculations were indeed true.

Official words from Google reported that they will introduce two Nexus smartphones this year. The first Nexus smartphone will be once again, made by LG and the other one will be made by the Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei. Despite of these two Nexus smartphones, Google said that they will not introduce a new Nexus tablet, instead, they will just stick with the Nexus 9 for the rest of the year.

So the LG-made Nexus smartphone under the codename "Angler" will sport a 5.2-inch display with an unknown resolution, (probably QHD) powered by a Snapdragon 808 chipset whereas LG is making it as a consideration. Other hardware include a 2,700mAh battery under the hood.

The Huawei-made Nexus smartphone on the other hand, under the codename "Bullhead" will sport a larger 5.7-inch display powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset and has a 3,500mAh battery. Seemed like previous rumors about the Huawei Nexus phone were all true.

As mentioned, this two devices will make their debut later this year, maybe around Q3 and Q4 of 2015.

SKK Mobile Aura : Cheapest quad-core phablet with a large battery

SKK Mobile wants to prove something. They wanted to dominate the sub-3K price range with affordable quad-core phones and after releasing the Lynx Lite and Lynx Edge both of which are affordable quad-core smartphones, new quad-core devices are up for grabs below the 3K price range, this time, with bigger displays. One of them is the SKK Mobile Aura.

Judging by the specs, it's a very competitive release since other phones at this price range doesn't even have quad-core chipsets. Of course, the main highlight of this phone is the large qHD display and the large amount of power to back you up.

For starters, here are the specs :

AURA

• 5.5-inch IPS LCD display (540x960 pixels, 200ppi)
• MediaTek MT6582 chipset
• 1.3Ghz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7
• 500Mhz ARM Mali-400MP2 GPU
• 512MB RAM
• 4GB internal storage, expandable up to 32GB
• 5MP AF rear-camera w/LED flash
• 2MP front-facing camera
• 2G GPRS/EDGE, 3G HSPA+
• Dual SIM
• WI-FI b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth
• GPS w/A-GPS
• 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio
• micro USB 2.0
• 2,800mAh Li-Ion battery

PRICE : P2,999.00

I think the only compromise is its 512MB of RAM but nevertheless, at this price range, don't expect too much. What you pay is what you get, atleast it has a sizeable amount of battery which should last for a day to day usage.

Meizu to unveil a new device on June 2, is this the M2 Note ?

Recently, Meizu officially confirmed that they will launch a new smartphone on June 2 at an event to be held in Beijing, China. Other than that, no other information about the upcoming smartphone were given. Although they teased the launching event by releasing a poster than only showed the date written as "6.2.15".

The said smartphone might be the leaked successor to their M1 Note which should be named as the M2 Note or the M1 Note 2.

Earlier speculations about the M1 Note's successor revealed the smartphone as having a physical home key. Some even said that it has a fingerprint sensor. But according to Gizchina.com, the fingerprint sensor is out of the story and the physical home key is just a plain home button without any special functions whatsoever.

The recently leaked live images (posted below) shows to devices. Beside the MX4 Pro (on the left) is the rumored M2 Note. It also showed the device running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with their Flyme OS UI.

No other infos are available as of now, let's just wait for the announcement, and besides, we're just less than 2 weeks ahead from the launch event.

MyPhone officially launched the Infinity 2, Infinity Lite 2 and Infinity LTE

Today, at a small launching event held by MyPhone, the 2nd-generation Infinity series smartphones were made official.
If my memory sets me right, some live leaks circulated on the web showing the Infinity 2 and Infinity Lite 2 both available at a particular store ahead of their official announcement. Well, it also happened with their Rio 2 series before it was launched.
So three smartphones were unveiled namely, Infinity 2, Infinity Lite 2 and Infinity LTE. Obviously, the first two smartphones mentioned were the successors to their old Infinity phones.
It's interesting to note that MyPhone decided to make the Infinity 2 Lite available in two versions (8GB and 16GB)
Without further ado, here are the official specifications of the Infinity trio :

INFINITY 2
• 5-inch AMOLED Full-lamination display (720x1280 pixels, 294ppi), Corning Gorilla Glass 3
• MediaTek MT6752M 64-bit chipset
•  1.4Ghz octa-core ARM Cortex-A53
• 700Mhz Mali-T760 GPU
• 1GB RAM
• 16GB internal storage, expandable up to 64GB
• 13MP AF BSI Sony IMX214 rear camera (f/2.2 aperture, blue-glass filter lens) w/LED flash

• 2,450mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery
• Android 4.4 KitKat
• 139 x 68 x 5.8mm
PRICE : P12,799.00

As you can see on the images below courtesy of swirlingovercoffee.com, the Infinity 2 look so premium with its aluminum build, and with a 5.9mm thickness, it's one of the thinnest smartphones ever released by a local brand.

INFINITY LITE 2
• 5-inch IPS LCD Full-lamination display (720x1280 pixels, 294ppi), Corning Gorilla Glass 3 (TBC)
• MediaTek MT6592M 32-bit chipset

• 600Mhz Mali-450MP4 GPU
• 1GB/2GB RAM
• 8GB/16GB internal storage, expandable up to 64GB
• 13MP AF BSI rear camera w/LED flash

• GPS w/A-GPS, GLONASS
• Micro-USB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack
• 2,800mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery
• Android 4.4 KitKat
PRICE : 8GB - P7,399.00
              16GB - P8,399.00

This one takes some of Infinity 2's hardware like the display, as well as the chipset used. What's unusual is that it's available in two variants. First is the 8GB variant with 1GB of RAM while the other 16GB variant comes with 2GB of RAM. It also comes with a larger battery than the Infinity 2 rated at 2,800mAh.

INFINITY LTE
• 5-inch IPS LCD Full-lamination display (720x1280 pixels, 294ppi), Corning Gorilla Glass 3
• Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 64-bit chipset (TBC)
•  1.2Ghz quad-core ARM Cortex-A53
• Adreno 306 GPU
• 1GB RAM
• 8GB internal storage, expandable up to 64GB
• 13MP AF rear camera w/LED flash
• 5MP front-facing camera
• 2G GPRS/EDGE, 3G HSPA+, 4G LTE Cat.4
• Dual SIM
• WI-FI a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0

• Micro-USB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack
• 2,820mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery
• Android 4.4 KitKat
PRICE : P8,000+
So this one runs on a Snapdragon 410 chipset, and is the largest smartphone unveiled under the Infinity series.
Well, to be honest, I think there are other smartphones that's way better but is priced the same with the three smartphones. But if you prefer the looks and I think, the quality, then you can choose between the three above mentioned devices.

iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Rumors : Force Touch confirmed !

Recently, rumors began spreading out about the successors for the current iPhone offerings which should be called the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Well, Apple is still keeping their mouths shut whether the next iPhones will be called that way but as for their previous naming traditions, chances are high that indeed, the letter "s" will be added.

So back to the rumors, earlier speculators had already made their statements on what are the things to be expected on the new iPhones. First, let's talk about the game changing feature of the iPhone duos, the Force Touch Technology

What is Force Touch Technology ?

Force those who are wondering, Force Touch is a feature developed by Apple for any touch-sensitive device wherein every degree of touch has their own corresponding actions. It uses tiny electrodes within the digitizer that distinguishes every taps, touch and the hardness of your input, then the display will respond accordingly and will give you some specific actions depending on the degree of your touch.

So, besides having this kind of feature, the next iPhones are also rumored to pack a rather amusing 12MP snappers with OIS which is quite an upgrade if you ask me.

Talking about the display, both retained the screen sizes of the current iPhones at 4.7-inches and 5.5-inches respectively as well as the resolutions. What's new is that the displays are rumored to be ion-strengthened but the bigger one has a Sapphire Crystal glass protection.

Other rumored hardware include a new chipset, which is the Apple A9 one. No other words yet about the upcoming chipset but it's rumored to be partnered with 2GB of RAM for both iPhones.

Lastly, the rumored iOS 9 is said to make its debut upon the release of the new iPhones.

• Apple Pay, Touch ID, Siri
• iOS 9
• 2,915mAh non-removable Li-Po battery
• 138.1 x 67 x 6.9mm

*Take note the specs enlisted above are still unofficial and may change without further notice.

So as for the release date, continuing with Apple's launching tradition, it should be announced and released this September which is about 4 months from now. Let's just wait if the rumors were indeed, true.

MediaTek Helio™ X20 : World's first deca-core (10-core) mobile chipset

Truth to be told, mobile smartphone industry is today's largest of it's kind and companies related with it are still discovering new ways to make it grow. Let's take MediaTek as an example, a Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company venturing into smartphone chipset industry known for their high-performance chipsets with lower than usual prices.

After making the whole world stop by releasing the first ever true-octa core chipset, it seems like they want to do it again, this time by introducing world's first 10-core chipset, the MediaTek Helio™ X20.

Actually, there are two chipsets available under their new Helio series but the X2ī0 is far more interesting than the X10 so I'll gonna focus with the former.

So as mentioned, the X20 is the first ever deca-core chipset, that's 10-cores available for smartphone processing.

What makes the ten-core up in moving is the touted Tri-Cluster™ technology. Much like ARM's big.LITTLE architecture, the 10-cores are separated in three different clusters for different degree of usage respectively. So the first cluster is for heavy usage which is composed of two ARM Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.5Ghz, the next cluster is for moderate usage which uses four ARM Cortex-A53 cores all clocked at 2Ghz. The third and last cluster is for light usage which uses another four ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4Ghz. So the aforementioned Tri-Cluster technology ensures that each of the three clusters are used depending on usage. For example, light gaming and some casual texting will only use the cluster with the lower-clocked processors. This ensures maximum performance with very minimal battery consumption. According to MediaTek, this technology can save up to 30% more battery.

"By leading with mobile CPU architecture and multimedia innovation, MediaTek continues to push the envelope of power efficiency and peak performance"

     - Jeffrey Ju, Senior VP of MediaTek

In line with its top notch performance is the advanced features that it offers.

FEATURES :

• Dual main-cameras with built-in 3D depth engines that allows for a faster shot-to-shot experience in creating complex depth of field images.

• Multi-scale de-noise engines to deliver high quality images with unprecedented detail, color accuracy and sharpness under extreme condition

• A 120Hz mobile display that breaks the barriers of the current 60Hz refresh rate to provide crisp and responsive browsing and uncompromised motion viewing

• An integrated, low-power motion processor - ARM Cortex-
M4 - to support diverse always-on applications such as MP3 playback and voice activation. The sensor hub operates on an isolated, low power domain to assist with tasks for better battery efficiency.

(SOURCE : MediaTek)

MediaTek said that on Q3 (July - Sept.) this year, the Helio X20 will be available for sampling and is expected to make its debut by the end of this year, perhaps through Chinese flagships from Meizu, Xiaomi and Oppo.

With all of the above being said, the Helio X20 is a testament to the ever growing smartphone industry and MediaTek still continues to provide us with such products to enhance our smartphone experience.

So I'm expecting to see our local brands using this chipset by the end of 2016, let's wait and see if what the competition holds.

Galaxy S6 Active press images showed up, unfortunately, still no words from Samsung

It's been a while since the launch of the Galaxy S6 and to keep in touch with Samsung's traditions, rumors began circulating about the rugged version of their current flagship, which according to rumors will be called the S6 Active. So we already saw the "Active" moniker since the S4 era so it's no surprise if the alleged rugged version of the S6 will do the same.

Last week, some unofficial press images began showing up on AT&T's website hinting that the S6 Active with the available color options namely, Camouflage White and Camouflage Black. Well, they immediately remove the images from their website so there's no assurance if those images are truly from Samsung.

To remind you with, unofficial live images were posted by @EVleaks on their Twitter page showing the same camouflaged look of the S6 Active. If we would assume that both leaks are true, then expect the leaked images to be official.

If we would explore deeply, the S6 Active is rumored to retain the same powerhouse hardware of the S6 as well as the camera, heart rate sensor and storage options. The main difference though is the bigger battery rated at 3,500mAh. Due to the fact that the S6 Active is a rugged device, the buttons below the display will be a hardware one with a rugged design which means that the fingerprint scanner is out of question.

To finish this off, the S6 Active is rumored to be announced this Q2 of this year and will become available this Q2-Q3 this year. And if the leaks are all true, then expect the device to be exclusively available for AT&T.

Firefly Mobile's newest devices, the Intense X and Intense Mini

Firefly Mobile, a local smartphone brand has been hot for a while after releasing their Intense 64 LTE which, frankly received some pretty good reception. Well, it's quite successful to say the least since they opted to release two new smartphones as a part of their Intense line.

First of the two is the higher-spec'd INTENSE X. It's a cheaper and less-powerful alternative to their Intense 64 LTE. Well, for a price of just P5,999, you will get a pretty decent device for your daily smartphone needs.

So it has a rather large 5.5-inch HD display, that's 1280x720 pixels. Under the hood runs a MediaTek MT6592M chipset, which equates into eight Cortex-A7 cored clocked at 1.4Ghz and is coupled by an ARM Mali-450MP4 GPU. Multi-tasking is handled by a mere 1GB of RAM. It has 16GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD card up to 128GB (WOW !).

To complete your idea about the device, here are the full list of specs :

INTENSE X

• 5.5-inch IPS OGS LCD display (720x1280 pixels, 267ppi), Asahi Dragontrail Glass
• MediaTek MT6592M chip set
• 1.4Ghz octa-core ARM Cortex-A7
• 600Mhz ARM Mali-450MP4 GPU
• 1GB RAM
• 16GB internal storage, expandable up to 128GB
• 13MP AF BSI rear camera (f/2.2 aperture) w/LED flash
• 8MP AF? BSI front-facing camera (Samsung sensor, f/2.8 aperture)

• Android 4.4 KitKat w/OTA wireless update

SRP : P5,999.00

FREEBIES :
• Smart flip-cover
• 2x screen protector
• Firefly Mobile basic phone

Next in line is the more cheaper and smaller INTENSE MINI. Interestingly enough, cheaper price doesn't mean that the specs should be lowered too much. Frankly, it seems like they just made it smaller and more compact.

So as mentioned, it has a smaller 4.5-inch qHD IPS display. Powering the device is the same MediaTek MT6592M chipset coupled by 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage capable of memory expansion up to 64GB via microSD card.

To complete this of, here are the full list of specifications :

INTENSE MINI

• 4.5-inch IPS OGS LCD display (540x960 pixels, 245ppi), Asahi Dragontrail Glass
• MediaTek MT6592M chipset
• 1.4Ghz octa-core ARM Cortex-A7
• 600Mhz ARM Mali-450MP4 GPU
• 1GB RAM
• 8GB internal storage, expandable up to 128GB
• 8MP AF BSI rear camera (f/2.8 aperture) w/LED flash
• 5MP AF? BSI front-facing camera  (f/2.8 aperture)
• 2G GPRS/EDGE, 3G HSPA+

• Firefly Mobile basic phone

Both phones come in a very attractive and slim designs, Firefly Mobile claimed that even their logos are carefully and precisely printed so not a single detail on ergonomics will be wasted.

Also, both of them are available for online purchase at Lazada.ph

So yeah, both devices are quite decent for their respective prices to say the least. Firefly Mobile is trying to differentiate themselves by offering tons of valuable freebies for each purchase which makes their offerings a bang for the buck deal if you ask me.

Meizu MX5 rumored specifications and alleged live images

The Chinese smartphone industry is one of the biggest if you ask me. Countless smartphone brands, big or small, famous or unknown, they dominated the smartphone market.

Meizu, being one of the known brands doesn't want to get too far off the competition. Lately, dozens of unverified leaks regarding Meizu's next flagship has been making the rounds around the web.

One of the leaks reported that the MX5 is going to pack a "bezel-less display" which is quite interesting since we failed to see it on the Oppo R7. But if we would make the alleged live images as our reference, then a bezel-less display is out of the story. So the display is rumored to be at 5.5-inches diagonally with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels or QHD and as suggested by the live images, the display should have a 16:9 ratio instead of Meizu's usual 16:10 ratio from their previous offerings.

The MX5 is said to run on MediaTek's top of the line chipset, they can opt for a MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 octa-core chipset or a more powerful one which is the MT6769 Helio X20 deca-core (10-core) chipset which is MediaTek's latest offering.

Other reports about the hardware include a 41MP but is yet to be confirmed.

So if we assume that those leaks were all true, perhaps we could expect the MX5 to make its debut this June 30.

Motorola Moto X (2015) rumored specifications and release date

Aside from the Droid series, the Moto X had proven itself as a success through  the years since its initial release, which forced the company behind it to release a successor to cater the needs of a typical smartphone user who loves using stock Android.

After the success of the original Moto X (2013) and its successor, the Moto X (2014), rumors are surfacing again about the third-generation Moto X flagship.

Rumors indicate that the upcoming Moto X will run on a Qualcomm chipset, a Snapdragon 808 variant to be exact (the same chipset used by the LG G4). The Snapdragon 808 might not sound that promising since it only runs on 6-cores and is coupled by a weaker Adreno 418 GPU. But nevertheless, the said chipset would still prove itself through real-world performance and efficiency.

Newer rumors also indicate that it will sport a 16-megapixel camera which supports optical-image stabilization which is not a surprise since OIS is setting today's standard for flagship phones.

Other rumored specs include a 5.2-inch QHD IPS display which I think is the same with the Droid Turbo, 4GB of on-board RAM, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, a 5-megapixel front snapper, front-firing speakers, and a modest battery rated at 3,280mAh. It should also run with Android Lollipop upon boot-up.

To remind you with, the above mentioned specs are not yet official so don't expect to much.

O+ 360 HD Specs and Price

Recently, O+ USA release their newest addition for their 360 line which is the 360 HD. As the name suggested, it sported O+'s own 360-touch technology and is now boasting an HD display.

It has the usual set of specifications though, but what's special is that this phone is made for selfie lovers. Well, because it has an 8-megapixel autofocus camera at the back and a 5-megapixel autofocus front facing camera both of which, sporting their own LED flash. O+ also added a 'selfie fix' feature to complete your "360 selfie" experience.

Here are the complete list of specifications :

O+ 360 HD

• 5-inch IPS LCD display (720x1280 pixels, 294 ppi)
• MediaTek MT6582 chipset
• 1.3Ghz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7
• 500Mhz ARM Mali-400MP2 GPU
• 1GB RAM
• 8GB internal storage, expandable up to 64GB
• 8MP AF rear-camera w/LED flash
• 5MP AF front facing camera w/LED flash (Selfie-fix feature)
• 2G GPRS/EDGE, 3G HSPA+
• Dual SIM
• WI-FI b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0
• GPS w/A-GPS
• 360-touch technology
• 2,000mAh Li-Ion battery

PRICE : P6,499.00

So yes, I think it's not that promising on the paper but it has its own set of features to seperate itself from the others. IMO, they should've made the price a little bit lower since adding P500 to its initial price would get you a far more better phone from Alcatel. (Remember the Flash Plus?)

Android 'M' to be revealed at Google I/O 2015 !

Months have passed since the introduction of Android Lollipop, which definitely made some huge improvements over its predecessor. The most obvious change is the implementation of the touted "material design" which in my opinion, is very pleasing to the eyes. But nevertheless, it also introduced some bugs which, thankfully were addressed immediately with the release of Android 5.1 update.

Fast forward to the present time, things are getting pretty fast and heated up. After getting a 10% user share from Android users, it seems like Google wants to treat us with a new, sweeter treat under the nickname of "Android M".

Following their naming traditions, it's pretty obvious that it will be named after a dessert. So we're finished with Lollipop, let's move to letter M. It's very interesting every time a new Android version is going to be revealed because everyone is guessing its name.

So for my guess, I think it would be named Android "Marshmallow" (Hehe)

Well, enough of talks, I'm not exactly sure whether if it would begin with a newer version number or it would just stick with 5.2 or 5.5

But, we're just weeks ahead from the announcement, according to Google, the Android 'M' will made its debut on their annual Google I/O developers conference which is scheduled on May 28-29.

So, let's just wait for the announcement.

LG G Stylo specifications and release date.

The G4 is the main highlight of LG's announcement last April 28, but actually another phone was announced and it was the G Stylo. If you can still remember, I posted some leaked live photos of the supposed to be G4 that sports a stylus and metallic design but it turned out that the said device is the G Stylo itself.

The G Stylo is bigger device sporting a display that is .2-inches wider than the G4. It's an IPS display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels resulting into a very modest pixel density of 258ppi. Of course as the name suggested, it has an included stylus to interact with the display although I'm not sure if it is a pressure sensitive one.

Running inside the device is a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 64-bit chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM. Internal storage wouldn't also be a problem because it has 16GB of available memory which, fortunately can be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB (Woah !)

Camera wise, it boasts a 13MP primary camera which amazingly has optical image stabilization and focusing is handled by a laser-emitting module like the G3. It is also partnered with an LED flash which can record 1080p videos @30FPS. For selfies, it has a 5MP front-facing snapper.

The G Stylo also sports some good set of connectivity options like 3G, WI-Fi and NFC. The fact that it runs on a Snapdragon 410 chipset means that it also supports LTE network.

To further explain the device, here are the full list of specifications :

Looking at the specs, I think the G Stylo is targeted for mid-to-high end smartphone market. So what do you think ?

We'll see if this would be a success. I hope LG would give it a pretty competitive price tag, maybe below 260 bucks ?

Starmobile outs the affordable Jump Neo, their first Lollipop smartphone

Cherry Mobile and MyPhone had already added an Android Lollipop smartphone on their arsenal, so it's time for Starmobile to do so.

Last Friday, they quietly unveiled the Jump Neo, their first-ever smartphone running on the latest version of Android. For the price ? it is available for only P4,490.00

What will you get for that price ? Well, besides that it runs on Android Lollipop out of the box, it also boast a rather large 5-inch IPS display with an unknown resolution (I'll update this), a quad-core MediaTek MT6582 chipset coupled with 1GB of RAM, a 5MP rear-camera with LED flash and a 2MP front facing one. Last but not the least, a large 2,300mAh of battery. Before I forgot, it's also dual-SIM capable as well and it has 3G.

Pretty modest hardware to start with, no worries cause Android Lollipop is optimized for that kind of hardware (remember Android One devices ?)

Starmobile claims that the Jump Neo is the cheapest 5-inch smartphone running on Android Lollipop. Well, I guess they were right because the only 5-inch smartphone running on Android Lollipop besides the Jump Neo is the MyPhone Rio 2 which sells for a mere price of P5,499.00

So yeah, still no words for availability so stay tuned while I update this post.

Xiaomi Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus leaks

It may sound early, but some leaks regarding Xiaomi's newest flagship device has been on the rounds in the web. Xiaomi Mi 4, their current flagship were released on the month of July last year or approximately 9 months until now. They also introduced two new larger and more powerful devices to go against the 'phablet' trend in the mobile industry and recently, they introduced the slightly-downgraded Mi 4i to cater the mid-range section. So yeah, it seems like it's time for them to unveil a new flagship to replace the aging Mi 4 and that's what leaks are going into.

So according to the early leaks, the new Mi flagship phone should become available in two versions namely the Mi5 and Mi5 Plus.

The Mi 5 is said to have a 5.2-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset which is expected to be coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. It should also sport a 16MP camera and a rather large 3,000mAh of battery.

On the other hand, the Mi 5 Plus is a supposed to be larger and more powerful version of Mi 5 which sports a large 6-inch QHD (1440x2560) display which is said to be also bezel-less. It should also boast the same Snapdragon 810 chipset and the 16MP camera.

Still, no other informations about the next flagship as of now. The pricing and release date is yet to be known, let's just wait for the upcoming leaks and let us piece those leaks together as one.
